I would not describe it that way.

The current official information I found supports several different immigration statuses, including visitor, work-related and foreign-investor entry permits.

The law says a foreign investor’s entry permit has a specified duration and can be renewed alongside renewal or extension of the foreign-investor business permit.

So a five-year period may relate to a particular permit or renewal framework in a specific circumstance, but you should not assume that every visa-free visitor automatically receives five years of residence.

That’s the key correction.

9. WHAT ABOUT CITIZENSHIP?

Now we reach another important issue.

So if someone sends you a WhatsApp message saying:

“Pay me $1,500 and I’ll get you a five-year Micronesia residence permit.”

Don’t send the money immediately.

Ask:

Who is the official authority?

What is the legal basis?

What permit are you actually applying for?

What government form is being submitted?

What is the official fee?

Can you verify it on a government website?

Those questions can save you from losing your money.
